'This Shot Is Brilliant' Has Evolved From Corny Game Of Thrones Tweet To Full-Fledged Meme

Twitter certainly had a lot to say about the series finale of Game Of Thrones - but there's one tweet that seems to have made a huge impression on the social media site. Jonathan Hill of Santa Clarita tweeted a video of Drogon behind Daenerys making it appear that she has the wings of a dragon. The text reads: "This shot is brilliant and should be shown in any film study class #GameofThrones." Hill's tweet was immediately mocked by film nerds, and it ended up morphing into a very entertaining copypasta. Twitter users began subbing the shot of Daenerys Targaryen with shots from cult classics and arguably inane works of film. It's an incredibly versatile meme, and a whole lot of fun.

Funny meme about Game of Thrones finale, "This shot is brilliant and should be used in any film studies class." "This shot is beautiful and should be used in any film studies." Funny meme about filmmaking, filmmaking memes.

Whether or not you approved of Sunday's episode's twist, there's one thing that all Game of Thrones fans can agree upon: the episode was too damn dark. Honest Movie Posters Are Back In Time For Oscars Season

2018 was a damn good year for movies. There was The Favourite, zany fish-eyed English Baroque rollercoaster from Yorgos Lanthimos. Roma, a poignant love letter to Mexico City, managed to steal hearts internationally. Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper inexplicably paired up for what ended up being our favorite iteration of A Star Is Born yet. Despite our immense love for these acclaimed films, we also enjoy making fun of sh*t. And The Shiznit happens to do that very well.

Every year the entertainment site posts "honest posters" for Oscar nominees. They're beautifully done and funny to boot. We've included some of this year's posters and some all-time favorites. If you like what you see, check out the rest here and consider donating to their Patreon.

Funny honest movie posters.

Artist Otis Frampton's Deviantart is a treasure trove of nerdy goodness, but we're especially fond of his ABCDEFGeek alphabets. He's actually made three separate geeky alphabet comics, and you can find the second and third volumes in this gallery. Do you get all the references?

Fans Are Flipping After Seeing The First Trailers For 'Solo: A Star Wars Story'

Star Wars fans were overjoyed last night after being treated to the first Solo trailer during the Super Bowl - and today we've got a trailer. The clip features some familiar faces: Donald Glover as Lando Calrissian, Woody Harrelson as ringleader Beckett, and Emilia Clarke as Qi'ra, another part of their eventual crew. Alden Ehrenreich plays the title role of our favorite "Nerf herder," and in the Super Bowl spot you can almost picture his voice leaving Harrison Ford's mouth. Honestly, that's where the resemblance stops.

Fans seem a bit more excited about Glover's Lando - the trailer features him oozing Lando goodness, dressed in rich furs and cracking smug smiles. On this end, we're stoked to finally see a Han/Chewie meet-cute and exactly how Han became the most prolific smuggler in the galaxy. Just have to wait until Labor Day.

Some Neckbeard Removed The Women From 'The Last Jedi' And Is Getting Destroyed By Fans And Stars

Did you hate The Last Jedi? Did you think that maybe it could stand to lose some of the "girlz powah" or "silly stuff?" Turns out there's a Last Jedi edit for that. Pedestrian TV reported Monday that an anonymous user uploaded a "chauvinist" cut of the latest Star Wars film to the Pirate Bay. The 46 minute cut removes almost all women, with the exception of Leia Organa Solo, and replaces important moments for women with men.

Just take in this neckbeard-y list of alterations that were made to the original film:

  • "Cut out most shots showing female fighters/pilots and female officers commanding people around/having ideas."
  • "NO HALDO! She simply doesn't exist. Her whole subplot doesn't exist. The Kamikaze is carried out by Poe. ( = Poe dies.)"
  • "Leia never scolds, questions nor demotes Poe. He is a respected and very skilled high-ranking member of the resistance."
  • "When there's a scene where a woman is cut in making some important statement that can be substituted by another statement by a guy, then she gets cut out. Works pretty well actually."
  • "Wookie eats the Porg, or at least isn't interrupted in trying to do so."
  • "No green milk.

This dude has such a ridiculous grudge on women that it's almost hilarious. People on Twitter, including director Rian Johnson and actors Mark Hamill and John Boyega, seem to agree.

People Are Combining Movies And Millennial Stereotypes On Twitter And The Results Are Genius

If we've learned anything over the past couple years, it's that millennials are an incredibly easy target. Yesterday, they gained an opportunity on Twitter to have fun with both their plights and stereotypes. @TagFemmes started things off with the hashtag #MillennialAMovie, imploring users to "millennialize" popular movie titles as as game. The results have been pretty hilarious.

Funny list of twitter game #millennial a movie, in which twitter users make movie titles to suit millennials.
