Chinese Prom Dress Backlash Tweet Has Inspired Some Spicy Parodies

There was some serious prom dress controversy last week after high school student Keziah posted prom photos of herself wearing a cheongsam - a traditional Chinese dress. While Keziah had many supporters, several people were adamantly against her dress choice, citing racism and appropriation of culture. Twitter user Jeremy Lam was one of these opponents, retweeting Keziah's photos with the caption "My culture is NOT your goddamn prom dress."

Lam ended up seeing his own backlash as people found him guilty of bullying - but the best Lam backlash comes in the form of tweet parodies. His dramatic quip has made for some hilarious Twitter memes, featuring the likes of Guy Fieri and our favorite lizard person, Mark Zuckerberg.

Karma Is A B*tch: The Chinese Makeover Meme That's Taking Over The Internet

First there was the Blue Whale Challenge, then the Tide Pod challenge. Now we've got the Karma Is A Bitch Challenge, which is decidedly less deadly than its predecessors. The Chinese video meme involves mouthing lyrics to Kreayshawn's "Gucci Gucci" while wearing drab clothing and minimal makeup - before throwing a scarf or jacket in front of ones face and "transforming" into a more glamorous, fierce look.

A compilation of the memes went viral yesterday on Reddit, leading to features on Mashable and Metro. The sassy videos are incredibly entertaining, adding some fun to the makeover trope that's been popular since Pygmalion and She's All That. We've included a couple compilations, as well as Davison Video's handy explainer, for your viral video enjoyment.

Fast Food, Fast Life: Groomsmen Troll Bride and Dress Up as McDonald's Food for an Absurd Wedding Procession

A groom in Singapore, Chen Guanyou, went above and beyond to troll his bride to be by dressing up as Ronald McDonald with his groomsmen in tow as delicious treats.

"My wife hates fast food — she's very health-conscious," said Chen. "So (if) she wants to marry me she has to accept this."

Well Chen's wife is a lucky lady, cause this guy has one incredible sense of humor.

Some people think this elderly woman simply mistook Galen for Guan Yu, but are we really sure? The statue happened to be located outside of an internet cafe, so it stands to reason that this lady might actually just have wanted to make her incense offerings while kneeling before Galen.

This is What Thanksgiving Around the World Looks Like

Ahh, Thanksgiving. Turkey, pumpkin pie, stuffing, rampant consumerism...

Thanksgiving as we know it is only celebrated in America, but many other countries have their own unique celebrations which are all meant to give thanks and celebrate the end of the season's harvest. Presumably, they all copied America because they thought our idea was so cool. Here are a few of the more famous festivals.
