The premise of this shitposting group is simple: people share memes and photos featuring themes and items that really didn't need to be combined. Many of these combine 2 memes in one, making the memes extra meta. If you like what you see, and are partial to anime memes, definitely give the group a follow.
Yesterday Kim Kardashian tweeted a photo of her awkwardly posing on a bed wearing the Yeezy Butter 350 shoes, designed by her husband Kanye West. The internet immediately took note of the horribly awkward nature of the photo, which features Kim K flailing on the bed in her underwear, wearing a creepily blank expression on her face.
This pic is just begging to be made fun of, so people have been photoshopping and meme-ing it like crazy, and we're not mad about it!
This Monday the Twitter account for Aquaman tweeted a photo of the film's poster to promote its December 21st release. Unfortunately for the well-meaning but ever-faltering DC Universe, it was immediately mocked on Twitter. The designers definitely made it easy. The poster features Jason Momoa surrounded by sharks ripped straight from the Getty Images gallery - and people immediately likened it to the posters for movies like Finding Nemo. Before long, it was getting the full Photoshop meme treatment. And we're definitely here for it. Better luck next time, DCEU.
Only 90's kids will understand this specific expression of existential dread. Lisa Frank's wildly colored animal art was all the rage nearly two decades ago, and now it's being repurposed by the Nihilisa Frank Facebook page to give an entirely more philosophical message. The memes are a perfect combination of nostalgia and jaded misery - and possibly the best thing we've seen on the internet this week.
This bizarre, dank, and often deep-fried meme leaves us with a lot of questions:
- Why would someone want to 'shop Youtuber/video game commentator Markiplier with Lord Farquaad from Shrek?
- Why the letter E?
- Why did people start to blend this meme with the Zuckerberg trials?
- Finally, WHY is this meme still going since its creation in April?
These questions kind of prove the point the first 'Markiplier E' memes were trying to make. The first examples fall into the Memes Then/Memes Now category. The heavily distorted and arguably hideous 'shops really do make the contrast between current memedom and the Impact memes of yore extra palpable. But that doesn't mean we really "get" these memes at all.
