Video: Kid Confronts Mom Over Belief That Antifa Stormed The Capitol

Rumors of Antifa being behind the January 6th storming of the capitol began almost as quickly as the Pro-Trump rally turned into an insurrection. Many far right conservatives and MAGA gangs seemed to immediately pass the blame to the anti-fascist group - much as they claimed Antifa was behind the BLM protests. Even though the FBI was quick to debunk the rumors, it seems that many followers of right-leaning mainstream media are still eager to deflect blame and weave more conspiratorial drama.

While some of these believers will continue to swim in their seas of confirmation bias, others are apparently grapping with family members who won't stand for the BS. This viral video, in which a kid puts their mom on blast for her insistence that MAGA did no wrong, is a pretty great example of the latter. While it doesn't seem like they've changed their mom's mind, it's pretty entertaining to see mom struggle to explain something that's completely false. The reactions ain't bad either.

29 Clever & Relatable Tweets For Short Attention Spans

It takes a savvy comic mind to pack a quality joke into Twitter's 280 character limit. Not everyone's got the chops. Their one-liners fall flat. Their tweets smack of try-hard desperation. Not these tweetsmiths. These writers and shillers of amusing observations have managed to find that harmonious sweet spot of humor and brevity.

Twitter Cancels 'Bean Dad' After A Series Of Unfortunate Tweets

If you've been on Twitter at all over the past 24 hours, chances are you've heard about the sorry saga of John 'Bean Dad' Roderick and his epic Twitter downfall. If not, we'll catch you up to speed. On Jan 2, @johnroderick posted a marathon of a Twitter thread, boasting at length about refusing to show his hungry nine-year-old daughter how to use a can opener to open a can of beans. In the thread he recounts encouraging her to struggle with the device over a span of six hours in hopes to help her build character, or something. An outcry across Twitter immediately ensued and it didn't take long for people to dig up many racist, sexist, homophobic, and antisemitic tweets from @johnroderick's past. This kerfuffle went so viral, it might even affect the future of Jeopardy! (Don't ask.)

'Bean Dad' is, without a doubt, the unfortunate first main character of 2021. Hopefully this isn't foreshadowing a very cursed year. We've collected some of the funniest Twitter reactions to the whole 'Bean Dad' saga. (Content warning: some of the screenshots of @johnroderick's older tweets contain offensive language.)

22 Hysterical Snaps Of Kids Having Meltdowns Over Mundane Things

If you're on the fence about having kids, you might want to take a peak at these Snapchat pics, which we think serve as the best form of birth control around. They say parenting is tough, but no one is truly prepared for the multitude of totally pointless meltdowns that will inevitably ensue.

23 Twitter Users Share What They Once Thought Were Indicators Of Wealth

When I was a kid I thought my peers with Barbie dolls were rich. And people with air conditioners. And I wasn't the only child with a unique idea of what indicated that someone had money. This thread from @cpoliticditto proves that most kids had their own special ideas of wealth:

"My wife grew up thinking that having water/ice dispensers IN THE FRIDGE DOOR was a life goal.  I grew up thinking if you had a basketball hoop with a clear/plexiglass backboard, you were rich.  What are some things you thought were indicators of wealth when you were a kid?"

The responses are a nice mix of amusing and depressing. While some kids thought that having an attic or a wide variety of cereal meant someone was privileged, other kids thought hot dog buns were a luxury. We've included some of our favorite responses, but there are tons more over at the thread.

Twitter Thread: People Recall Chain Restaurants They Thought Were Super Fancy As Kids

Everyone loves to mock Olive Garden for their iconic breadsticks and overcooked, highly caloric pasta dishes, but do you remember being a kid, twitching with excitement in the backseat of your parents' minivan on the way to a fancy evening at the local Olive Garden, or Sizzler, or TGI Friday's? We've all got that one place we remember feeling like a decadent treat when we were kids, but seem pretty underwhelming now as adults. @johnbcrist asked the people of Twitter to share the spots they used to think were super glamorous, and the replies made us feel pretty damn nostalgic. Check out some highlights we grabbed from the amusing thread.

30 Mommy Group Posts That Range From Cringey To Full Karen

As younger people abandon Facebook for Instagram and TikTok, it seems like we're more aware of all the crazies that frequent the social networking site. Some of the best places to find unhinged and ignorant people are mommy/parenting groups. There's an overwhelming number of Covid-19 nonbelievers, people who do extremely weird sh*t with breast milk, and of course - lots of talk of essential oils. If the children are our future, and they're being raised by these people, we might be more screwed than we thought.

25 Little Kids Badly Navigating The Internet

Anyone who's ever spent a significant amount of time lurking the comments section of a YouTube video has probably come across a comment or two that looks suspiciously like it was written by a toddler. Often totally misspelled and difficult to interpret, these comments are pretty hilarious if you take them at face value. We've collected a bunch of screenshots of ridiculous instances where little kids probably somehow got a hold of their dad's YouTube account and went to town.
