Better take a long look in the mirror, Shrek.
While lockdowns and (for some of us) unemployment have given us ample opportunity to indulge in Marvel movies and television, we still find ourselves wishing we had a time stone to blast us into the future and into a movie theater to watch Scarlett Johannson in November's Black Widow. There's much to look forward to in the MCU - especially Black Panther 2 and Disney+'s Loki - but we'll have to settle for these Marvel memes while we wait.
We just had to see one more Marvel Cinematic Universe meme before the release of Avengers: Endgame this Friday. This particular image macro features Drax from Guardians of the Galaxy, earnestly declaring the lengths of his humility. Memers are obviously using that to illustrate our more pathetic attempts at kindness or just going completely edgy with it. We look forward to seeing more of these around.
Billy Joel meets the Marvel Cinematic Universe? Sign us up. As Friday's release of Avengers: Endgame creeps closer, this video of the surviving characters singing their own wordy version of "We Didn't Start The Fire" is exactly what we need to tide us over. Bonus? A sweet visual shout out to the dearly departed Stan Lee at the end.
While we know there's an entire Thanos Did Nothing Wrong movement, we can't help but feel that the big purple villain deserves very little sympathy. This meme works with this theme. After Thanos is overpowered (briefly) by the Guardians of the Galaxy, Mantis cries out that he is in anguish, and that he mourns. Drax asks her what such a monster could mourn, and memers are now filling in the blanks. You can expect a lot of very specific anime and gaming memes to come out of this one, but we're hoping for some more seriously righteous shitposts.
