The Internet Has Spoken: Men Need To Wear Shorter Shorts

Twitter is an absolute minefield of horrible discourse. It's kind of like Rule 34. If it exists, Twitter will find a way to debate and troll it to oblivion. As summer is swiftly approaching (our chub-rub chafed thighs believe it's already here) the discourse has taken a turn to summer fashion. Specifically, men's shorts.

Twitter user @cheracuse seems to have inspired the controversy with a matter-of-fact tweet that argues 5" inseams are the only correct path for men who want to wear shorts. A statement like that is bound to garner reactions, and these Twitter users were happy to oblige with their two cents. While some men were concerned that their thunder thighs or extra meat wouldn't work with this specific trend, most people (especially women) seem to be on board with the PSA. We're inclined to agree with the thirsty people of the internet: 5 inches or higher is the way to go. But we're here for the debate because, well, it's nice to see the internet fighting over something like shorts for a change.

Boxing Fans Walk Away From Mayweather vs. Paul Fight Disappointed as Fighters Walk Away With Millions

Floyd Mayweather and Logan Paul walked away from last night's exhibition even richer as millions of fans who paid $49.99 a pop for the pay-per-view spectacle expressed disappointment after watching an 8-round hug fest.

Fans who expected a real fight probably should have looked up the exhibition match rules. There were never going to be any results, as there are no judges in an exhibition fight. And the prospect of 155-pound Money Mayweather knocking out the 189.5-pound YouTuber was always pretty unlikely, despite Logan Paul haters hoping for such an outcome. It became pretty clear to everyone watching that the fight was always the money-printing machine it was intended to be, which left fans coping the only way they know how: through memes.

We've collected some of our favorite Twitter reactions to the 'legalized bank robbery,' as Money Mayweather so eloquently put it.

Marvel Dropped The First Trailer For 'Eternals' & Twitter's Wondering Where They've Been This Whole Time

After a couple months of exciting Phase 4 teasers (Black Widow, Loki), Marvel has dropped another exciting full-length trailer that delivers an epic sneak peek at November's Eternals. Until now, this action film was known by us as "the movie that made Kumail Nanjiani repulsively jacked." Thanks to the trailer, we now know that it's also got a star-studded cast, was directed by Nomadland's Chloé Zhao, and is also the movie that made Kumail Nanjiani horrifically and disgustingly jacked.

Jokes aside, the trailer has a lot to offer. We see that the Eternals have been around for thousands of years, and have helped humanity develop life-altering technologies through teaching, but never interfering. You know, until now. The footage lines up well with the official synopsis:

"Marvel Studios' "Eternals" welcomes an exciting new team of Super Heroes to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The epic story, spanning thousands of years, features a group of immortal heroes forced out of the shadows to reunite against mankind's oldest enemy, The Deviants. The outstanding ensemble cast includes Richard Madden as the all-powerful Ikaris, Gemma Chan as humankind-loving Sersi, Kumail Nanjiani as cosmic-powered Kingo, Lauren Ridloff as the super-fast Makkari, Brian Tyree Henry as the intelligent inventor Phastos, Salma Hayek as the wise and spiritual leader Ajak, Lia McHugh as the eternally young, old-soul Sprite, Don Lee as the powerful Gilgamesh, Barry Keoghan as aloof loner Druig, and Angelina Jolie as the fierce warrior Thena. Kit Harington plays Dane Whitman."

Game of Thrones fans will celebrate the appearance of the brothers Stark (Richard Madden and Kit Harington) as the Eternal Ikaris and Dane Whitman (who later becomes the Black Knight) respectively. Angelina Jolie stuns as the white-haired Thena. We're probably most excited to see Korean actor Don Lee as Gilgamesh. The burly performer kicked some serious ass in Train to Busan, so we expect to see a lot more of that in an action-packed Marvel movie.

Many Twitter users have been expressing their delight at this gorgeous first look, but there seems to be a pretty common thread to many of the reaction memes: people want to know what the hell the Eternals have been doing this whole time. The trailer makes it really clear that the group of immortals has been watching sh*t go down on Earth for, like, ever. Even when disasters like THANOS (an immortal himself) happened. We've really been enjoying the reactions that make fun of their inaction, but we're pretty sure their logic will be revealed in November. Until then? We're gonna sit back, relax, and enjoy the memes.

Knuckles Is On Board For Sonic 2 & He Doesn't Look Like Crap

Remember how horrible Sonic looked in the first iteration of 2020's Sonic the Hedgehog? Well, thanks to some leaked images from the Sonic 2 set, we're happy to report that it seems we're avoiding similar cursed aesthetics in Sonic the Hedgehog 2. More importantly? Knuckles is along for the ride.

We've known since February that Tails would be joining our favorite hedgehog for his movie's sequel, but people are now celebrating that Knuckles the Echidna will be along for the ride as well. Sonic's rival has been a fan favorite since the character's debut in 1994, and has also become a meme in his own right. Remember Ugandan Knuckles? Leaked photos reveal that Knuckles will be looking much, much better than the VR chat avatar, and much, much better than the cursed Sonic we've tried to erase from our collective memory. You can see the photos - and some thrilled reactions below. But don't get too excited. The movie won't be in theaters until April 8, 2022. They've got plenty of time to screw this up.

Three weeks ago, Chrissy Teigen dramatically 'quit' Twitter after getting fed up with the trolls once and for all. Welp, surprise surprise. Of course, Chrissy's fans were in full support of her return, but the rest of Twitter had the spicy roasts ready to fire off. Crazy Badass Storms Through Traffic Arm, Jumps Rising Drawbridge

Well, we've got a new candidate for Time's person of the year. Or at least the badassof the year. We just don't know their identity.

In a move that can be described as "sick," "dope," and "really f*cking cool," an impatient driver in Daytona Beach, Florida, decided to take a risk and drive over a rising drawbridge instead of waiting with all the sheep who would prefer to abide by the law. The spectacle was caught on camera, and seriously looks like something out of an action movie.

While we were hoping this daredevil would come out of this scot-free, the stunt was not well-received by police, who believe they've identified our new hero. Though this may be the most talked about instance of Evel Knievel-ry, it seems like jumping over drawbridges is a "Florida Man" trait. A motorcyclist made the dramatic leap last month, and we've even seen footage of a dude running over a bridge with JUST HIS FEET. It's true that these shows of cojones are dangerous and sometimes deadly, so while we're celebrating this instance of success, we must urge you not to try this yourself. Thanks to the videos below, you can enjoy the thrill (and some entertaining reactions) from home.

No, Tubbycoin Isn't Real, and No, Not Everyone Got the April Fool's Joke

Last night was weird. In a cold medicine haze I happened upon a tweet from Netflix featuring a Furby saying "Let the dark harvest begin." It was terrifying and confusing. I moved on. All was well in the world as I scrolled past bad political take after bad political take. Until I saw a tweet from the @TeletubbiesHQ account that teased something big - and featured the #Bitcoin hashtag. After pinching myself really hard to ensure that I was not hallucinating, it became obvious from the responses, that other Twitter users were just as bewildered.

The very mixed response continued after the account tweeted an update this morning:

Fortunately, anyone who clicked through the link and read through the increasingly ridiculous WildBrain labs presser realized that the whole "HugTech" thing was an April Fool's charade - for a good cause. Michael Riley of Wild Brain explained towards the end of the release in the following statement:

"I'd like to wish everyone a Happy April Fools' Day! Although TubbyCoin is not really a cryptocurrency, our hope is that you'll still enjoy sharing TubbyCoins with friends, family and anyone who needs a hug – all to bring some very real smiles to faces. And the part about WildBrain's donation to charity is no joke. To help ensure kids have the assistance they need in these difficult times, we'll be making a $5,000 donation to Kids Help Phone and adding one dollar to our donation for every TubbyCoin shared on social media up to a total of $10,000. So, share those virtual BigHugs!"

While one might expect a positive reaction after the initial shock and horror of Teletubby cryptocurrency, people are still decrying the move, citing crypto's effects on the environment, and even some chiding from Twitter users who seem to be convinced that this prank will encourage child gambling. The whole thing is almost too ridiculous to comprehend, but thanks to another annoying April Fools Day, we're forced to think about this nonsense. Thank god for comedy-leaning commenters. We don't know where we'd be without them.

Chrissy Teigen Quits Twitter, Inspires Spicy Celebratory Tweets

Well, it's official. Chrissy Teigen has thrown in the Twitter towel and deleted her prolific and controversial account. The model/actress was a very loud voice on the website, but that visibility has not really worked in her favor. Over her ten-plus year Twitter career, Teigen often found herself under scrutiny. There were the trolls linking her to Jeffrey Epstein. Her weirdly mean past with Courtney Stodden. Despite her strange bullying of the ex-pageant queen, Teigen has been loudly complaining about being attacked by vicious internet trolls. While we're not advocating for any kind of cruelty, Teigen's Twitter account has been a consistent and tone-deaf display of privilege. It's hard to take a "victim" seriously when they're tweeting about accidentally buying $13,000 bottles of wine during a pandemic that's caused some serious financial damage within the working class. This out of touch behavior and Teigen's attempts to seem relatable rubbed a lot of Twitter personalities the wrong way. And now that she's gone? The jokes are coming out in full force.

Twitter Reacts To Spicy Tea Revealed In Oprah Interview With Meghan Markle & Prince Harry

British Twitter woke up to some spicy royal tea this morning after Oprah's primetime special with Meghan Markle and Prince Harry aired last night on CBS. The hour-long special covered many aspects of the inner workings of life in the royal family, mostly focused on Meghan's experience both before and after her wedding. Meghan debunked a tabloid rumor about having made Kate Middleton cry over some flower girl dresses (apparently it was actually Kate who made Meghan cry)—a bit of gossip that may seem absurdly trivial to most, but was a big 'turning point' for Meghan and the start of a decline in her wellbeing and mental health. The tabloids from then on depicted Meghan as a sort of villain, and the side-by-side comparisons of how the media treated Kate compared to Meghan for literally the same innocuous behavior is telling of the double standard Meghan had to put up with. For example, headlines about Kate 'tenderly cradling' her baby bump were very different from the ones about how Meghan 'can't keep her hands off her baby bump.' Oprah made another comparison between a headline about Kate eating avocados 'to help with morning sickness' vs. Meghan's love for avocados, a fruit that is 'linked to human rights abuse and drought.' We can't make this stuff up.

In the interview, Meghan discusses her mental health, how she was silenced by the royal family, how she and Harry were told that their son Archie would not be receiving security because of his title, and how she did not feel protected despite what she had been told. Meghan revealed that not only was the firm 'willing to lie to protect other members of the family, but they weren't willing to tell the truth to protect me and my husband.' Sound familiar? The royal family certainly has a history of trying to take control of the public narrative at the expense of the people involved in rumors and scandal and many on Twitter have been drawing parallels between Meghan's and Princess Diana's experiences. Perhaps the most scandalizing divulgence in the interview was when Meghan and Harry revealed that some members of the royal family had previously brought up concerns about the color of their future children's skin. Not that it's a huge surprise that members of the royal family are racist, but this bit of tea sparked quite a reaction from both Oprah and Twitter.

We've collected some hot takes and Twitter reactions to the primetime special. It's been quite a day for Black Twitter vs. British Twitter.

Twitter Has A Lot To Say About Phoebe Bridgers' SNL Performance

Saturday Night Live is a polarizing show. There are the people who think the sketch-comedy show been unwatchable for years, and then there are the people who watch it religiously because, well, routines or something? Last night, indie rocker Phoebe Bridgers was the musical guest, and it seems her performance united both camps, because it's all that Twitter is talking about.

At the end of Bridgers' final performance, the musician smashed (or attempted to smash, depending on who you ask) her guitar. Guitar smashing is a long-running and classic rock move, one that performers such as Jimi Hendrix, Kurt Cobain, and Pete Townsend were quite skilled at. But judging by some of the confused reactions on Twitter, people have forgotten the longstanding albeit destructive tradition. Some of the takes suggest widespread boredom - because people are equating the smashing to white privilege. Other takes are spent defending Bridgers' actions. Phoebe herself had to explain that it was an inexpensive guitar, and she had obtained the blessing of its manufacturer. The best tweets, however, add some comedic flair to the weirdly controversial performance.

Taco Bell's Bringing Back Potatoes & The Internet Is Rejoicing

Taco Bell made a lot of enemies last year when they removed some serious key players from their menu. Among the cruelly scorned menu items were their potato dishes, which were an important and beloved option, especially for Taco Bell's vegetarian and vegan diners. The move was widely criticized, and led to a lot of angry posts on Twitter and the r/tacobell subreddit. Today, the fast food brand announced that they are bringing our precious potatoes back on March 11th. While that may seem far away, it's the light at the end of the tunnel that many dejected Taco Bell lovers have been looking for. The good news has inspired a wealth of happy reactions and memes from fans of the spuds. And while celebrating fast food may seem trivial to some, just think of all the pain we've had to endure over the past year. We'll take any wins we can get.

Armie Hammer's Kinky Cannibalistic DMs Are Freaking Twitter Out

If you noticed Armie Hammer was trending on Twitter yesterday, you probably weren't prepared for the reason why. The alleged leaks of his correspondence with several women are not only NSFW, but are extremely graphic in his apparent lust for blood. The actor, who recently announced his divorce from Elizabeth Chambers, went as far as to proclaim "I am 100% a cannibal."

The drama started when Instagram user @houseofeffie released a series of dms with the actor. Twitter user @tevinauguste cross-posted the exchanges, along with threads from other victims, in a very long and very damning thread. The series delves into Armie's interest in BDSM, and, of course, more references to blood and cannibalism.

While @houseofeffie has since claimed the messages were fake, the other victims have not admitted to any such foul play. After that admission, to make things more confusing, writer Jessica Ciencin Henriquez (who has been linked to Hammer in the past) tweeted "If you are still questioning whether or not those Armie Hammer DMs are real (and they are) maybe you should start questioning why we live in a culture willing to give abusers the benefit of the doubt instead of victims. TW// sexual violence."

For obvious reasons, we're not going to include the grisly DMs in this gallery. But you can easily find them through the links above. Instead, we're going to focus on all the Twitter reactions that cover our feelings on the matter, from disbelief, to stunned humor, all the way to disgust.

24 Hilarious Twitter Reactions To The Kim & Kanye Divorce Rumors

Looks like 2021 has claimed its first victims. You know, besides the thousands of people who have died of Covid-19. Page Six dropped a bomb on pop culture fanatics yesterday. The bomb? That Kim Kardashian and Kanye West are getting divorced. The exclusive report claims that multiple sources have come forward to share that "divorce is imminent" for the couple. This isn't the first time a tabloid has teased their journey to Splitsville, but Page Six cites Kanye's absence from the Kardashian family holiday celebrations and Kim's equally absent wedding ring as proof that they are calling it quits.

The high profile couple has yet to speak on the matter, but people on Twitter are making up for their silence with some seriously funny and scathing reactions. While some people are giddy about the news (people who love drama, Kanye fans who crave new music), other Twitter users are using this moment to call out Kim and Kanye for their narcissism, money-hungry families, and some of the more ridiculous stunts of their relationship. And then there are the people who claim they don't care - but for some reason feel the need to tell the world about it.

TikToker Horrifies Twitter By Washing Cooked Ground Beef

We realize that it's important to eat healthy, but some people really take cutting calories too far. Twitter user @poetatoboi shared a TikTok from one such person yesterday, and it's garnering some very unsavory reactions. The video comes from @eemilydharperr, who is apparently willing to sacrifice flavor for less fat. In the cursed clip she shares a "hot tip" that she learned in a nutrition class years ago. After showing all the meat juice and grease in her pan of cooked and crumbly ground beef, she pours the meat and liquid into a strainer...and then proceeds to rinse it with water.

The video has caused quite a stir on Twitter, from people who know how important flavor is as well as folks who are horrified by the havoc that grease wreaks upon pipes. The double dose of cringe has resulted in some very funny and hard to argue with twitter reactions. And we're here to share them with you.

Twitter Thread: NYC Resident Gets Roasted After Wondering Where People Buy Stuff Without Bodegas

If there's one thing we know about Twitter, it's that people love to argue at length about the most minute regional differences, such as buying things in a store. New York City resident @AlisonLeiby stirred up some spicy controversy when she cheekily asked people who live outside the city where they buy Diet Coke, paper towels, and peanut M&Ms. Midwesterners and Floridians sarcastically described the woes of 'primitive living,' while others took the opportunity to accuse New Yorkers of having little knowledge of the country outside their bubble. Some weren't so critical of the question and instead argued that shopping in a New York bodega is its own special experience you can't get elsewhere.

Sometimes the most mundane differences between how people live can cause a barrage of hot takes, or at the very least, an interesting discussion. We've collected some highlights from the highly controversial thread
