While some people were celebrating the 4th of July with fireworks, barbecues, and cold beer, other people were binge watching the freshly released third season of Stranger Things. Nothing screams 'Murica quite like shutting yourself in with some air conditioning and television. We're okay with that.

There are only so many ways to waste time. One of our favorite ways to procrastinate is by pretending to watch Netflix or Hulu and then paying absolutely zero attention to the show and scrolling through memes. Try to pay enough attention to the show so that you don't have to ask any potential viewing partners what's happening. 

Netflix tweeted yesterday that The Office, America's most beloved TV show, is leaving to be a part of NBC's own streaming service and people are not happy about it in the slightest. We can't really blame them, given the volume of new streaming services that the average person is now required to purchase in order to watch their favorite shows. Fortunately though, Netflix will keep the show until January 2021 so fans have ample time to watch (and re-watch) it to their heart's content!

The Stranger Things franchise just released its trailer for the much-anticipated third season of the show, and we gotta say that we're pretty freaking stoked for it. There's a new Upside-Down Monster and the kids are, well, not kids anymore. Unfortunately, we all have to wait until the Fourth of July for the debut of the newest season, so in the mean time we hope these memes will help to hold you over.

Everyone has fears, but this weekend's award for funniest goes to actor Vincent D'Onofrio. You might recognize the quirky, burly actor from Netflix's Daredevil or the ol' Law and Order: Criminal Intent. D'Onofrio grew up in South Florida, where apparently monkey "petting zoos" are a thing. The actor goes on quite the tirade about how this specific zoo changed his life forever. Spoiler alert: monkey petting zoos should not be a thing!

While the the 2019 Oscars were exceedingly memeable, the most meme-worthy award definitely goes to Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper. Their performance of A Star Is Born's "Shallow" was almost uncomfortably intimate, and proceeded to spawn a wealth of suspicious and tea-loving tweets about the duo's sexual tension. Memes quickly followed, ranging from sexual in nature to celebrations of our banal Oscarless lives. While these are some of the funniest memes we could find, we're willing to bet that Gaga and Cooper will be gracing Reddit, Twitter, and Instagram for the entire week. We're not complaining.

The internet is pretty dang obsessed with Marie Kondo right now, so we're here for any trending memes that honor the creator of the KonMari Method. This newest trending meme has been compared to classic Drakeposting - used to represent the things that "spark joy," and the things that don't. It's, of course, resulted in some serious responses, and in classic internet fashion, some snarky ones that we can all relate to. Enjoy!

If you're in the garbage person category like we are, you may have been writing off organization expert Marie Kondo as an unnecessary hack. An eyeroll-worthy self-help guru. Well, Netflix seems to believe in the celebrated author of The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up. Her show for the streaming giant was released on New Year's Day, a move that some may argue was a bit cutesy. According to social media, the show has already won over the internet.
