DC Mayor Muriel Bowser Accidentally Tweets Lewd Anime Meme

BREAKING: In a very strange turn of events, it seems that DC's Mayor Muriel Bowser has a love for lewd anime. Or at least one of her interns does. Thanks to the quick eyes of @appaliachiabelle, the internet became aware of a short-lived tweet from Bowser featuring some innocent photos of the politician at a 4th of July parade - as well as a pic of The Weeknd, and most interestingly, a lewd anime-style cartoon featuring sexy Wendy's, Ronald McDonald, and Colonel Sanders. While it's no secret that anime Colonel Sanders is a fox, the image seems to have taken a lot of people by surprise. And we know it's not because of the memeable Canadian pop singer.

While the gaffe is nowhere near as incriminating as Ted Cruz's Twitter porn drama, the internet, as expected, is eating it up. So whether we have an intern to thank, or Bowser herself, we appreciate the fun.

DC Says Superheroes 'Don't Do That,' Zack Snyder Disagrees

A superhero can partake in righteous violence and destruction, but according to DC Entertainment, pleasuring a lover is far too obscene. In a recent Variety Magazine article focusing on shows that subvert the superhero genre, Justin Halpern, co-creator and executive producer of the HBO animated series Harley Quinn, told Variety:

"In this third season of 'Harley' we had a moment where Batman was going down on Catwoman. And DC was like, 'You can't do that. You absolutely cannot do that.' They're like, 'Heroes don't do that.' So, we said, 'Are you saying heroes are just selfish lovers?' They were like, 'No, it's that we sell consumer toys for heroes. It's hard to sell a toy if Batman is also going down on someone.'"

'Heroes don't do that' eh? A number of Batman fans made the point that DC once went with a pretty graphic rooftop sex scene between Batman and Catwoman in an issue of their comic. Where was their concern about merchandise sales then? Many weighed in on the controversial question of whether or not Batman—ahem—goes down, including Zack Snyder, who tweeted an illustration of Batman and Catwoman in the throes of passion. He captioned the image with one word: 'canon.' Snyder's tweet sparked some spicy memes in the replies. Way to set the record straight, Zack.

About half of us were first exposed to now-famous superhero comics via out-of-context comic panels used as internet memes, but we looked up the original issues and those memes are actually UNDERSELLING the glorious stupidity and insanity of the original stories. Stories like the Joker's "boner" fixation, Captain America's public "wanking," and the time Batman got slap-happy with his little buddy.

Not everybody has 4 hours to devote to Zack Snyder's Justice League, so we went ahead and made a Snyder Cut of our own. We've got Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Cyborg, Flash, Steppenwolf, Alfred, Lois Lane, Iris West, Darkseid, Martian Manhunter, Martha, Joker, the other Joker, that dumb kid in the bank, and it only cost us $20. Even better, it costs you nothing. Sorry, HBOMax.

The history of the Justice League is almost as long as the Snyder Cut's runtime. And it's chock full of fascinating stuff, especially at the beginning like Wonder Woman's love of rough stuff, Superman's origins as an evil homeless guy, and Darkseid's insatiable thirst for monogamy. Also, Batman was blonde. This is CanonBall.

Superhero movies are here to stay and so, apparently, are their super strange tropes like superwomen smiling after being punched, "serious" superhero films taking place in insane asylums, and longing for some romance always leading to a loss of superpowers. "Doctor" Jordan Breeding is technically out this week, but thankfully The Incredible Spider-Professor Angry Hands Hammer Man is here to save the day!

Sixteen 'Joker' Memes For The DC Fanatics

The Joker hit theaters just last Friday and boy has it caused a stir among the masses. The most noteworthy of all of the backlash has been the concern that the film may incite violent behavior, namely in the incel community. The US military sent around a warning that the film might inspire some to replicate the 2012 movie theater shooting in Aurora, Colorado.

On a lighter note, please enjoy these memes!
