Pentagon Confirms 'Regular Sightings' of UFOs & The Internet Is Suspicious

Remember about a year ago when everything in the world seemed to be going wrong and we were too desensitized to care about news about aliens? Let's jog your memory. After a long history of denying the existence of UFOs, the Pentagon confirmed the authenticity of UFO footage captured by the Navy in 2015. And according to officials in a recent 60 Minutes special, these videos document only a fraction of the Navy's regular sightings of 'unidentified aerial phenomena.'

At one point, former director of the Advanced Aerospace Threat Identification Program Lue Elizondo says, point-blank, 'What I'm telling you, it's real. The question is, what is it? What are its intentions? What are its capabilities?' [Cue The X-Files theme]

Unsurprisingly, Twitter has gone bonkers with the memes, jokes and hot takes in reaction to the 60 Minutes special. While many are rolling their eyes as they tweet 'I knew it,' others are newly skeptical of the existence of extraterrestrials by virtue of the fact that, well, you can't always trust the government. We can't wait to see the upcoming official UFO report—it's gonna be out of this world. Until then, keep scrolling to see what everyone's saying about these new developments.

Weird & Funny Behind-The-Scenes Photos From Film & TV

Memes can be made out of pretty much everything. That's been proven by a whole lot of textbook illustrations. But thanks to the Twitter account @behind_pics, we're learning that the same can be said of candid photos taken behind the scenes of classic movies and television shows. Though the Twitter account categorizes itself as "Behind The Scenes Pics That Look Like Shitposts," the strange, funny, and sometimes cursed images go a little farther than that. Many of them offer a fascinating look at some of the sillier and technical sides of filmmaking over the past few decades. If we've piqued your interest with this time capsule in a gallery, there are many more pics being posted daily on the @behindpics. It's worth a follow if only for all the green screen hilarity they share.

And since we're all about the memes around these parts, that's what we'll be focusing on. Though we respect the pop icon's right to do whatever the hell she wants to her own body, we love a good spicy meme that pokes fun at a celebrity. People Fantasize About What Their Ideal 2021 Would Look Like

The end of 2020 is finally approaching after what felt like a whole decade of disaster and disappointment. Many are lamenting the failures of this year by looking ahead and fantasizing about what 2021 would look like if it was as good as 2020 was bad. u/ilikepintobeans posted this exact question to r/AskReddit and the general consensus was that in an ideal world, coronavirus and global warming would be 'cured.' Some redditors put a pretty entertaining sci-fi spin on their answers. Considering all that's happened and what is to come, it's safe to say that we all desire a better world for everyone.

28 Animal Memes That Riff On Their Misleading Skeletal Structures

Ever wonder how accurate the skeleton-based reconstructions of extinct creatures actually are? If we're being honest, we completely took for granted that the experts responsible for how we "see" these creatures are completely sure of themselves. While this type of reconstruction has been occurring for over 2,600 years, it's far from precise and leaves a lot to the human imagination.

These goofy animal memes really highlight the room for error, all by imagining aliens reconstructing animals that are familiar to us. Cat skulls look...interesting. We've put 'em all together here but be on the lookout for more of these memes. They seem to be pretty popular.

In what feels like perfect timing with yesterday's Storm Area 51 event, the US Navy just confirmed that several clips of unidentified flying objects that were released between December 2017 and March 2018 might actually be alien spacecraft. Well, to be fair authorities haven't confirmed or denied exactly what these UFOs are because no one knows exactly, but we're still one step closer to confirming the existence of other intelligent life out there, and that's pretty damn cool!

It's a big day for memers who have been eagerly awaiting the 'Storm Area 51' raid, and one enterprising man has already become a celebrity through his meme-y antics. As a news correspondent explained the raid from Nevada, our hero video-bombs the broadcast by doing an epic Naruto run. The move was one of the many proposed methods of invasion in the original Facebook event. All we need to see now is a group of Kyles chugging Monster with some aliens.
