The Hubble Telescope Gave Us an Incredible Look at Saturn's Rings and Moons

Amazing what a mere collection of water and ice and a few rocks can turn into. Saturn's rings are one of the most incredible sights in the night sky, and in space overall. Though their make up is unremarkable, since the 1970s when the Pioneer and Voyager spacecraft visited the system and gave us our first close-up look.

What's more amazing is that unlike many other celestial bodies in our universe, that we need to physically reach in order to get a clear picture of, Saturn is close enough that we can get images like those below.

The Hubble Space Telescope just gave us incredible views of Saturn's rings and the movement of its moons around it

This Low Cost Version of The Matrix is Pure Gold (Ten GIFs)

There's no doubt that The Matrix is one of the best films ever made. Released in 1999, visual effects of such high quality were virtually unseen before. But would The Matrix be as good if it's visual effects weren't as good? After watching Studio 188's low cost version of The Matrix, we can say, YES. This low budget version of the classic is as good (or better?) than the original, purely because of the creativity that went into recreating The Matrix on a low, low budget. And it will have you crying with laughter. This will make your week.

This Woman Makes Hilarious Sh*tty Robots (8 GIFs)

We all know that there's high comedic value in fails. Especially when the things that are failing are not meant to fail... like robots. Simone Gietrz makes robots that have potential but were never really meant to succeed, and watching Simone "use" them will make you laugh harder than anything else you have seen today. Promise. You should probably just watch all of her hilarious videos on her YouTube channel. If you like to watch things exploding, check out NASA's test megarocket fuel tank exploding with liquid nitrogen. It's pretty cool.

New Images Solve Solar Physics Mystery (6 GIFs)

A group of international researchers and scientists have shed light on one of the central mysteries of solar physics: how energy and heat from the Sun is transferred to the Sun's upper atmosphere, heating it to more than 1 million degrees Farenheit - temperatures that are hotter than the Sun's surface.

With new images taken in granular detail by the New Jersey Institute of Technology's Big Bear Solar Observatory (BBSO), the researchers discovered that jets of magnetized plasma (spicules) spurt like geysers from the sun's upper atmosphere into the corona (the outermost part of the Sun's atmosphere). These spicules are between 125 and 310 miles wide and erupt continuously across the Sun's surface. Images of the jets also shows how they are made and the paths they travel (at 62 miles per second).

The corona is invisible to the human eye and the source of the mechanisms has been a confounding mystery for astrophysicists - until now. The GIFs below show granular details of the new images taken by the Big Bear Solar Observatory

This Low Cost Version Of Titanic Is Hilarious (Ten GIFs)

Ah, Titanic. A classic, romantic and heart-breaking movie that will go down in history as one of the most unforgettable films. But what if it was made with a very, very low budget? That's exactly what the guys over at Studio 188 wondered too. So they made it: a low cost version of Titanic. And it is (sorry James Cameron) way, way better than the original. Mostly because it had us crying tears of laughter for the whole 2:48 of the video. This will be the funniest thing you see all month. Guaranteed.

So you're John Mayer. You've dazzled and crooned to crowds the world over. You're about to play "Gravity," one of your most legendary hits. How do you make it special? How about playing with a fan's guitar. And that is exactly what Meyer did. At a recent concert he played, a fan passed a guitar to the front, hoping Mayer would play it.

He immediately obliged, much to the appreciation of the crowd, and continues playing the entire song with his fan's guitar. Not only did he play a set with it, but he signed the guitar and tuned it for the fan as well.

This is Something Not Seen Every Day - A Baby Elephant Helping a "Drowning" Man

A recent video on the internet has gone viral, after a baby elephant was caught on camera jumping into the water to save a man that appeared to be "drowning." While the man happened to be swimming, and he was originally terrified to see the large animal rushing towards him, he eventually realized its intentions.

The baby elephant arrived and protected the man from the current, allowing him to hang onto its trunk and leg as he made his way to the bank. Truly there is nothing in this world like the heart of animals. They are sometimes more human than people can ever be.
