In an epic halftime show Saturday entitled "They Came from Outer Space," Ohio State's marching band covered music and performed skillfully choreographed imagery from some of the biggest space movies including "2001: A Space Odyssey,"Star Trek: Into Darkness," and "Independence Day."

It's Tuesday again, do you know what that means? That's right, it's time for your weekly dose of stupid Lord of the Rings memes. These funny movie synopses feel totally wrong, but are sort of on point. They read like someone who just started watching movies for the first time badly trying to explain a plot. It's fun to try and think of other movies you can sum up in just a few sentences with crude reductionism. Beauty and the Beast? A young woman makes friends with some furniture and falls in love with her kidnapper. Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory? Creepy rich guy lures families into a building and kills kids in front of their parents. Inception? A group of colleagues take some epic naps together.

When a fandom gets too big, it can develop its own set of weird rules and become toxic. All of a sudden you have people who all like the same thing judging each other over certain parts of that thing they like. Sometimes the fandom itself is obnoxious to people who are minding their own business, making it even harder to associate yourself with that thing you like. Sure, movies don't have the time to account for literally every plot-independent detail in a character's life. Plus, a 10-hour movie where the main character spends half their time in traffic and on the toilet wouldn't be fun to watch. Probably. We'd watch it. We also would just like a moment to thank photoshop for existing and for people who decide to create such random works of art. The internet wouldn't be the same without those people.
For some reason, someone out there has decided to take the Jurassic Park and Jurassic World films and replace the dinosaurs within them with giant ferrets. We're not even mad about it, we'd absolutely watch this new franchise in a heartbeat!
