System Update Required: Gamers Vent Their Frustration After Trying to Play Their New Consoles

Remember those Christmas mornings where, with baited breath, you tore into the packages under the tree. Hoping that inside one of those shiny gifts lie that gaming console you'd been waiting all year for. The console you'd pestered your parents every time you went to the store, that you'd read about obsessively in every gaming magazine you could get your hands on.

Late last night reports started circulating on Reddit that Borderlands: The Handsome Collection had accidentally been made free by Microsoft on the Xbox One store.

Turns out it was intentional and is a gift from our overlords. We're always down with Borderlands, especially free Borderlands. Grab yours by the end of the weekend.

That was me... High fiving myself.

Thanks to the universal version of the Dosbox app, YouTube user vcfan was able to get Windows 95 running on an Xbox One. Some out there are already stepping forward to contest the usefulness of all this, but hey, if you can run X-Wing, Dark Forces, and Duke Nukem 3D, then it's definitely not worthless!

Night Dive Studios was able to confirm rumors encircling the remastering for Turok:

Actually though, this gen will be remembered in history as the HD remastered generation. Either way, we could always use more games with (self-destructing) dinosaurs.

Don't worry though, it'll probably run decent after 10 patches.

Microsoft first pulled back the rotten, diseased curtain of Dark Souls 3 at E3 with a teaser trailer.

It did one better at Gamescome, highlighting the gameplay we can expect from the next miserable death-fest created by From Software.

It looks like a Dark Souls game.

And that is wonderful.

The movement speed seems slightly increased, which is probably an evolution off the studio's most recent game, the fantastic Bloodborne.

It also looks like the giants are back...
