A week ago we learned that the original director for Deadpool, Tim Miller was abandoning ship, and now we've received confirmed reports that Miller is gearing up to direct the Sonic the Hedgehog movie.



The gameplan at this point is to make a hybrid CG-animated/live-action family film. Patrick Casey and Josh Miller, who were responsible for creating Golan the Insatiable, are penning the script. 

The previous clip is a tribute to the commercial that aired for Sonic 2 back in 1993. It would seem that Sega hopes by playing on the nostalgia, they can get gamers to revisit one of the classics.

We've seen some pretty excellent fan made games make the rounds recently; and more recently, end up being shut down as result of Digital Millennium Copyright Act. It's a shame too, with games like Pokemon Uranium and the Metroid 2 remake, and No Mario's Sky, Nintendo needs to take a minute.

Well fortunately, Sega's outlook on fan made games couldn't be more different. After seeing Game Grumps played Green Hill Paradise Act 2, Sega took note and sent out their approval on twitter.

"During the football section of the game, there is a specific character called Shadow that every time a shot is blocked, saved or even tackled he would shout the word c**t. At first my wife and I didn't pick up on it until we heard our 8-year-old daughter start saying it around the house."

Not sure what Shadow should be saying there, but it totally sounds like he's teaching everyone how to swear. What do you think Shadow is supposed to say?

In order to celebrate Sonic the Hedgehog's 25th anniversary, Sega's releasing the mini-Mega Drive and portable Genesis.
