Loving how Niantic is stepping up with this little easter egg -- Pikachu on top the shoulder of your player is a direct reference, hat tip, etc. to the Pokémon Anime series. Now, if we could only all get this update...At this point it looks like a select few players are enjoying this new feature. When the update is finally released be sure that you walk the 10km with the SAME Pikachu. 

Pikachu and Ketchup, a better love story than Twilight. Can't even, man...

Seriously, somebody get Ash Ketchum a skateboard. The era of the running shoes has come and gone...

Everyone meet Mimicyu, the ghost type pokémon that so desperately just wants to fit in with Pikachu.
