It's been so long since I've felt this way
It's really, really easy to come up with memes about "stuff that is bad" or "stuff that is good." This Wojak comic format is no exception. The meme features Trad Girl thanking someone or something for changing her life. The response generally indicates that it's dumb to give the hobby or interest that much credit. The meme focuses mainly on movies/tv, beloved characters, and music - and there's lots to be roasted. While some of the examples are definitely laughable (ahem, Folklore), we do think it's important to let people have their fun in 2020. There's not much of it to be had.
Ever take a step back from your life and wonder if you're just doing it wrong? It's easy to feel that way when you compare yourself to your parents. Many of us deal with these feelings, especially if we've surpassed the age at which our creators decided they were ready to bring life into this godforsaken world. A new Wojak comic meme completely excels at utilizing this theme, and the results are our favorite kind of self-deprecating humor. The meme basically compares what our parents were doing (making commitments, investing in the future) with what we're doing at that age. The punchline is that in 2020, we're doing shit that's way less mature. You know, making mistakes like eating pills of the ground or infantilizing ourselves with phrases like "I'm baby." While some of these memes hit home pretty hard, a couple of them are great reminders that progress is possible. It's also important to remembe that the world was a different place when our parents were our age. It's always better to focus on one's self and the possibilities we do have.
Remember those Time Machine memes we covered last week? Well, they haven't shown any sign of disappearing from our timeline. The very gender-oriented format plays with many themes, but most often imagines men and women doing very different things with time-traveling technology. While the format often imagines doing something just and noble with the time machines, sometimes the boy (or girl) in question chooses to do something entirely pointless. Either way, we're loving the memes. We've put together some of favorite new iterations, but you can read more about the format (and enjoy more examples) over at Know Your Meme
