Grocery shopping is not easy these days. Inflation is high, and the prices just aren't what they were two or three years ago. There's something to be said about living joyfully in public. I try to be as kind and happy to strangers as possible, both because it's in my nature and it makes people's day. I love to smile at strangers, even though 90% of the time, they look back at me like I'm crazy, but that's just New York City, baby. I don't agree with the Baby Boomer generation on everything I don't really see the harm in giving out “participation trophies” for sports and other activities. As someone who received my fair share of participation trophies, let me drop a truth bomb on y'all: we knew they did not mean anything. Some kids actually got trophies for various achievements, but if you only got a single measly medal at the end of the season, you knew that you brought nothing but mediocrity to your organization.
