Super Blunt Twitter Thread Demystifies Pooping & Peeing In Space

When  Hugo-Award winning writer Mary Kowal penned a New York Times essay about gender bias in space, she did not expect a wealth of responses claiming that women we kept from space travel due to a lack of adequate bathroom technology. The concept that only women would face issues relieving themselves was so preposterous that Kowal took to Twitter in hopes of enlightening the masses with some serious space potty history.

In the thread, Kowal manages to destroy some seriously absurd bathroom-related gender bias and teach us a whole lot about the process of pooping and peeing in zero gravity. It's an informative yet wild and wildly funny ride, and really leaves us with the desire to observe a glove of purple piss floating out of a space toilet. If Kowal schooled you as hard as she did us, give her a follow on Twitter. She's got loads more wisdom to share.

There's A Massive Ninth Planet In Our Solar System And Scientists Literally Can't Find It

...And no, it's not Pluto (RIP). Researchers have found evidence that there may very well be a ninth planet, aptly named "Planet Nine" or "Planet X," in our solar system that's about the size of Neptune.

The catch? No one has been able to find it. Yes, you read that correctly. This hypothetical planet is so far away that it takes between 10,000 and 20,000 earth-years for it to complete a full rotation around the sun.

Sadly, no scientist has been able to concretely prove the existence of such planet; they've simply predicted its existence based off of the similarly peculiar orbits of several objects in the Kuiper belt.

Still, we're going to hold onto hope that Planet Nine exists because that's just straight-up cool as hell.

These Stupid Black Hole Memes Are Still Going Strong And Driving Memers Batsh*t Crazy

If you've been in the dark (ha, get it?) about the news lately, then you may have missed the announcement yesterday that the first-ever images of a black hole were captured - a feat that many scientists believed was impossible until recently.

While this news is obviously interesting AF to nearly anyone with eyes, memers seem to care more about the fact that the image itself is a little more blurry than they'd like. That, and the fact that the cloudy pic has been making for some pretty great (and very stupid) dank memes.

And in case you missed our first round of these fresh and totally ridiculous black hole memes, check 'em out here! Or check out this hilarious rare steak meme that has found a resurgence in usage.

15 'Oppy' Memes That Celebrate The Life And Legacy Of The Beloved Mars Rover

We never thought a Mars rover could make us get a little teary-eyed, but here we are. It was announced that the well-loved robot Opportunity finally bit the dust on Wednesday after a remarkable almost-15-year run. The scrappy rover lost power during a dust storm last June, prompting NASA's decision to pull the plug on the entire mission. Interestingly, Oppy's twin Spirit passed away in a similar manner on the other side of the planet after a five-year run.

To aid the grief process, the internet has been meme-ing Opportunity, and we're here for it.
