Skittles Is Getting Roasted For Their Gray 'Pride Edition' Candies

It's Pride month, and we all know what that means. The world is celebrating the  LGBTQ+ community - and brands are bending over backwards trying to show their solidarity. While some companies opt to create rainbow versions of their logos (ahem, Raytheon), others color-fy their home pages or offer special editions of their food products. Apparently - for the second year in a row - Skittles has joined the latter group, re-issuing their "pride packs" of gray candies. The depressing-looking bags claim that "only one rainbow matters during pride" and that Skittles "gives up" its rainbow in support of the month.

We're not sure if we blocked the PR stunt out of our minds last year, or if they fell under the radar - but we're not alone in our surprise regarding color being drained from the fruity, chewy candy. Twitter user @jackary (who happens to be gay) shared his disbelief at the gray bags yesterday, which happened to be the first day of Pride month. Though it's undoubtedly important to show support for the LGBTQ+ community, many people  on the internet think this is laughable act of cringeytheatrics. And they're not afraid to say it. Though this may be one of the silliest shows of support from a corporation, it's only June 2nd. There's a lot more time for pandering. And a lot more time to make fun of it.

Celebs Mocked For Cringey 'I Take Responsibility' Video

It looks like rich white celebrities have learned absolutely nothing from the Gal Gadot 'Imagine' video's backlash. While that controversial John Lennon sing-along was about the coronavirus pandemic, today's cringey video is an attempt by actors like Aaron Paul, Stanley Tucci and Julianne Moore to address racism. The video features the actors (and KeSha) "taking responsibility" for their roles in turning a blind eye to racism at home and in the workplace. While the sentiment is hard to argue with, the video is being ridiculed for being a tone deaf performative display of "wokeness." And we have to admit that it's hard to feel moved by rich and privileged actors reading from a script. Though we hope this is the last celebrity video of its kind, it's hard to help being amused by the tweets that mock the clip. And we've put a whole lot of 'em together right here.

Wendy's Roasts McDonald's To Announce Their New Breakfast Menu

It's been a while since we enjoyed a good Wendy's roast session, but their Twitter team really brought it yesterday. The fast food restaurant went after McDonald's in a sly and funny attempt at announcing the March launch of their breakfast menu. Judging by all the attention the thread received from brands and roast-hungry fans, the PR move was a success. Even the Uno account had to get in on the fun.

We've included some of the better exchanges, but you can catch more fire by scrolling through the thread here. We hate to admit it, but those Wendy's breakfast sandwiches are making us hungry after all those brutal roasts.

IHOb Just Revealed What The 'B' Stands For And Nobody's Into It

The restaurant formerly known as the International House Of Pancakes made waves last week after announcing a name change to "IHOb." The chain remained coy about what the "b" stands for - until today. The answer, much to the internet's chagrin, is burgers.

We reported this "intel" last week after a couple IHOP insiders reported the beefy news. The restaurant is looking to remind people that they serve lunch and dinner, and have added several new burgers to their breakfast-y menu. So far, the internet has reacted with disbelief, confusion and anger. People who love IHOP apparently go there for the breakfast food - and are feeling pretty B-etrayed.

While we're not sure if the burgers will take off the way IHOP is hoping, we do have good news for the House of Pancakes purists - that P isn't actually going anywhere.
