These printer memes are taking the internet by storm right now, and to be honest, we're not 100% sure why. Similar to mothand beavermemes, this meme format jokes about an obnoxiously mundane object - in this particular case it's about color printers displaying error messages saying that magenta ink cartridges are required, even for black-and-white printing. 

When we first covered the 'Moth Meme' phenomenon we had no idea it would blow up the way it did. Now that the meme is (kinda) dying down, content creators have focused on a different kind of relationship: that of beavers and their beloved logs. These memes are in no way creative; they basically riff off of both the Moth and Loops memes. Despite the lack of originality, the memes seem to be taking off, especially on Instagram.
