'Well Yes, But Actually No' Is The Perfect Happy Accident Of A Meme

As you may or may not know, we're huge fans of hilariously erroneous subtitles. Thisclip from 2012's So You Want To Be A Pirate! featured a misquoted subtitle - "Well yes, but actually no" instead of "Good guess, but actually no." It wasn't until this February that a screenshot of the happy accident became a popular meme format on Reddit. The format is incredibly versatile, making way for everything from history memes to anti-vaxx memes. We've put together some of our favorites but you can check outr/dankmemes to find more tasty examples.

Funny memes, well yes but actually know, tv, kids tv, history memes, stalin, hitler, flat earthers, anti-vaxxers.

Martin Freeman hosted SNL this weekend, so of course there was a "Lord of the Rings"/"Office" mashup.

In one of the funnier sketches of the night, after saving Middle Earth, Bilbo Baggins starts working for Gandalf at a paper company alongside the pesky Gollum.
