Burger King Dragged For Attempt To Use Sexist Tweet As Bait

Apparently Burger King woke up on International Women's Day and chose misogyny. Early this morning, @BurgerKingUK tweeted 'Women belong in the kitchen.' But don't worry, they were only being ironic! They followed up the tweet with two replies announcing their mission to 'change the gender ratio in the restaurant industry by empowering female employees with the opportunity to pursue a culinary career.' It's not just a tweet either—Burger King ran a huge print ad in the New York Times featuring 'Women belong in the kitchen' in bold text. It's amusing to imagine the marketing team come up with this one and pass the idea all the way up the chain.

Twitter is not feeling the ironic misogyny, to say the least. The tweet has since been shared over 140k times, mostly accompanied by hot takes and spicy roasts. We've collected some of the funniest reactions to Burger King's epic fail. Sorry BK, but you're no Wendy's.
