It's the second week Women's History Month and we're celebrating meme-style by featuring some of our favorite femme memelords. This week the spotlight is on artist, gamer and meme queen @samanthaquick_. Few have figured out how to reconcile living through the age of all things tech with the paranoia and anxiety that comes with being terminally online, and many of @samanthaquick_'s posts hilariously point to these sorts of contradictions that our generation grapples with. We had the pleasure of asking @samanthaquick_ some questions about memes and other shitposting shenanigans. We've also included some highlights from her Instagram to give you a look inside the mind of a true master of the shitpost.

If you're not familiar, scrolling through TBME's account feels like stepping into the psyche of a hilarious homie you never knew you had. The chaotic energy and spontaneity of her style of posting makes TBME an exciting follow—you never know if you're going to see something crass, wholesome, relatable, or absurd pop up in your feed. We just know it's a vibe, and that vibe is funny AF.

Memebase: Tell us a little about yourself! How did you first start getting into posting memes?
@the_biggest_mood_ever: I'm the CEO of the biggest mood ever. I came up with the idea in 2019 when I realized that my old gardening account was not active and at the same time I had too many shitposts on my phone with nowhere to post them. That's how TBME was created. Easy.
What do you enjoy about shitposting?
Sharing the collective responsibility. The minute you see the images you become responsible for their existence!
What's a meme that makes you laugh every time you see it?
Definitely 'pass it to myself.' (Included in the gallery)
What's more interesting to you—cringe or based content?
I apply the principle of yin-yang to my cringe-based ratio.
You've got quite a lot of followers! What do you think attracts people to the memes you share?
I think that the memes that I share are easy to relate to, other than that I'm not really sure why people are following me. I love my followers though, they're the best :)
What have you learned about the meme world over the course of @the_biggest_mood_ever's existence?
It's not all fun and jokes.
Do you feel like your account has a theme, or do you post intuitively? How much do you think your own personality is reflected in the content you share?
I post very spontaneously and in one way or another I relate to the memes I post almost every time.
What is the biggest mood ever?
The biggest mood ever is yet to come :)

As brutal as the lockdowns and quarantine have felt, we like to look for silver linings. For many of us, this means more excuses to escape reality via television and movies. Action films are high up on our list of escapist genres. There's something weirdly therapeutic about watching a character kick major ass. Instagram meme creators such as @snackytuna and @bread_loafington take the heroes (think Sylvester Stallone and Mr. T) of testosterone-filled movies and make them the subjects of some seriously relatable and self-deprecating memes. While the image macros don't pass the Bechdel test, they're still extremely entertaining. If you like what you see, give these accounts a follow on Instagram. We think they deserve it.
These memes aren't for haughty meme connoisseurs. They're not for people who trawl r/dankmemes and r/MemeEconomy, and are hip to every meme trend. These memes are for the everyman. For the unpretentious scroller who doesn't turn their nose up at a "normie" or relatable meme. This kind of comedy doesn't change your life, but it sure does boost one's mood. And sometimes that's all we can ask for.

We're huge proponents of leaning into ones' dark side - even when the world isn't quite as shitty as it is now. These memes offer up a healthy dose of misery, edge, and morbidity that will resonate with anyone who lets their negative energy shine. It's exhausting to pretend to be happy. Country singer Dolly Parton started a serious meme on Tuesday when she shared a collage of four photos of herself. Each panel represented a social networking site: LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, and Tinder. The post inspired many other celebrities to create their own version of the photo, which is meant to show the differences in how we represent ourselves on the aforementioned sites. It's since been called the Dolly Parton Challenge, and is now being used to create everything from animal memes to satirical cartoons. The Internet Gods have spoken: we have been overdue for another stupid social media privacy hoax. This time around, boomers and the technologically ignorant are concerned about their already non-existent privacy on image-sharing site Instagram.The post claims that deleted photos and messages will be made public unless the "memo" is shared. The message is laughable, but the masses are pretty damn gullible where privacy is concerned. To make matters worse, celebrities and politicians such as Rick Perry (The US Secretary of Energy...) and Usher have been sharing the bogus spam as well. Instagram and Twitter users with a bit more of their wits about them have been using this opportunity to roast their share-happy peers via memes and exasperated tweets - and the results are pretty fricken' funny.

All hail 'World Record Egg!' It's not often that people of the world unite for a common cause, but that's exactly what happened this weekend to throw Kylie Jenner off of her veneered Instagram pedestal. Instagram account @world_record_egg begged the world to help an egg stock photo become the #1 liked post on the site. And it worked. Kylie's birth announcement was demoted to #2 on January 13th. "Egg gang" is now at 4 million followers, and many of them are creating content celebrating this massive success. Here's a selection of our favorite egg memes so far.
