Photographers Share Outlandish Requests From Entitled Influencers

The self-importance of influencers seems to have no end. Some influencers demand free hotel stays, others are more into free wedding photography, but one thing's for sure: they're incredibly entitled and suffer from serious delusions of grandeur. Today we got an extra large taste of this abhorrent attitude in the form of an r/AskReddit thread. U/peaches1687 asked the subreddit's photographers to share the most outrageous requests they've received from influencers. They (and people in other career sectors) were happy to oblige.

Food Pics That Rival The Cringe Of That Countertop 'Spaghetti Trick'

The past 24 hours have been rife with mention of another heinous "food hack." We revealed our contempt for the engagement-baiting, and Eater even published their own expose. But Twitter's still talking about the Prego bullshit, and frankly we are a bit sick of it. There's a whole world of horrible food pics and videos to be enjoyed. Why don't they get the same amount of love? Is it because they're cursed? Is it because there's a chance that the cringe might actually be real instead of fabricated? Maybe it's both. Either way, these food crimes are certainly more worthy of shock and horror than the gleefully dumb foodhacks that we're seeing on TikTok.

Please Stop Falling For Engagement-Baiting Influencer 'Food Hacks'

If you've been on Twitter at all in the past 24 hours, you've probably seen that Prego is trending. No, the pathetic excuse for a pasta sauce has not been abolished from grocery store shelves. Instead, the gullible people of the internet are expressing their shock and horror at yet another white person who thinks that smearing food over a shining kitchen island is a "hack."

Obviously the video above from "Josh and Lisa" is disturbing. It's even more disturbing with sound as its participants pretend this is a serious party trick. The dry noodles. The premade...everything. The counter. It's enough to send Gordon Ramsay into a coma. Also disturbing is the fact that people are completely eating this charade up. Which is more than we can say for that pasta.

If a person with deductive reasoning (hello) does even a little bit of digging, it becomes obvious that this video - and many like it - are the brainchild of attention-hungry influencers who film "pranks" with clickbaity titles. The same goes for that nacho hack that horrified us around the Super Bowl. Following repeated viewings of that scarring video, we realized its creator, Taylor Watson, had included the controversial clip in a folder called "Pranks!"

Josh and Lisa's videos look eerily similar to Taylor's. They even filmed a "nacho hack" of their own. It's got to be the most pathetic plagiarism we've seen in our lives. Many of their earlier "works" include a pretty damning disclaimer:

Thanks so much for watching this video! I do hope you enjoy it. Please note that this page features scripted dramas,PARODY HACKS, parody and satire. The events that take place in this particular short-film video are for entertainment purposes only.

It's safe to say that this Prego-laced abomination belongs in that category. While some people may say it's all in good fun, we had a feeling these milquetoast "creators" knew exactly what they were doing. And according to a piece from Eater - we were right. It turns out that all of these despicable shows of "cooking" from polished Facebook personalities lead back to Rick Lax, a Facebook-famous magician with a penchant for using gross concepts to create viral videos. He and his network know they can capitalize on the trope that white people can't cook. And they will continue to do so as long as the views come pouring in. Do they want clout? Do they want engagement so they can start shilling light projectors like viral Twitter users? Or are they in it for fun, as Lax claims? We're not really sure, but it's really time that we stop feeding into their food-wasting, unfunny bullshit.

Edited 1:29 pm to include the revelation of Rick Lax's involvement.

Twitter Users Slam Brody Jenner For Digital Blackface

We don't expect much from people like Brody Jenner, but even still, these pseudo-celebrities and influencers continue to amaze us with their stupidity. Today's Jenner blunder comes in the form of a clearly sponsored Tweet. It seems that Gradient, the app that went viral for celebrity lookalike business, is back - and is now offering a Face-App-ish feature that shows users what they'd look like as other ethnicities. So, basically, digital blackface, yellowface, whateverface. Brody's tweet shows off the problematic filters with a very lighthearted "Crying Laughing Emoji" - and Twitter users are not happy about it. We've put together some of their perplexed responses below, but it seems that

Influencer's Insane Ad For An Assistant Is The Epitome Of Entitlement

It's amazing that influencers and other celebrities are still trying to pretend "we're all in this together." While some might be dabbling in social issues or sharing their lockdown routines, others are actually actively seeking to hire an assistant in this climate. Writer Taylor Lorenz shared one such employment listing on Twitter today, and the job description is as insane and awful as you'd probably imagine.

The position, which is listed as "Personal Assistant to Influencer," actually demands the candidate to be on call 24/7 - which is definitely highly illegal. The pay, which is listed at $25-30 an hour, doesn't seem worth the burden of having to wake someone daily. Even more toxic? The request that the prospective assistant completely turn off their emotions and leave their personal lives at home. If you're expected to be constantly available, that seems like most of a person's life.

As can be expected, Twitter users were quick to marvel at, mock, and roast the advertisement. Some are even trying to guess which "celebrity" would have the balls to ask for so much and offer so little. We've put the best responses to the ad (which is below) in this gallery, but you can sink even deeper into the entitlement hole by checking out the thread for yourself.

Chernobyl has been on the minds of pretty much everyone as the HBO drama regarding the nuclear disaster has become the most popular show on television. The program is being lauded as a bleak masterpiece by most critics. Unfortunately, this attention has done more than stimulate tv-watching brains and educate the masses. The show and disaster seem to have piqued the interest of attention-hungry Instagram "influencers," who have been taking some pretty heinous selfies in Pripyat, Ukraine. Thankfully, when people on Twitter see dumbasses, they're not afraid to call them out. And boy, are these roasts entertaining.
