Kind of liking the artwork featured in this game trailer, though some folks on the other end of the spectrum are definitely not down for the Super chibi and Kingdom Hearts kind of style. It looks like we're set for a nostalgia tour with some classic Final Fantasy characters as well.
Anyone else spot that baby Cactuar? And hold up, was that Shelke from Dirge of Cerberus? Oh, and of course what would a Final Fantasy game be without staying true to a lengthy storyline -- this one reportedly clocks in at around 100 hours.
World of Final Fantasy is set to hit PlayStation 4 and the Vita on October 25th, 2016.
"It will essentially be a full-scale game for each part of the multi-part series. In XIII, each installment told the story from a different angle. It was kind of like approaching an unknown territory in a sense."
So, essentially a seven hour-long cutscene accompanied by a three and a half hour long hallway. What's not to love? We've got guys like Ryan Melton laying down their opinions on the matter:
You've gotta' love how they incorporate Florence and the Machine's latest track, 'Stand By Me' into the background. Anyone else out there havin flashbacks to when they used Leona Lewis' "My Hands" for the Final Fantasy XIII trailer/commercial?
On the potentially more critical end of the spectrum, I can't help but ask what I imagine plenty of you out there are wondering along with myself: why the hell post what could've completely taken the video game announcement trailer world by storm in potato quality?
Ah well. The game itself is worthy of all the hype it's getting, like from this fan:
Woah man, woah indeed. If your curiosity's particularly aroused, definitely check out this footage from a live stream of the Final Fantasy XV demo:
Seriously this is flat-out epic. Sounds like we're set have access to this gold come September 30, 2016; and time couldn't pass sooner. Body is ready. The Sept. 30th release date makes total sense, considering we now know Star Ocean 5 drops June 28th (also same day as Zero Time Dilemma), and with Deux Ex set for August, that ultimately works to split up S-E's release schedule as efficiently as possible.
Oh, and in closing a new demo arrives today, in which you follow the young Noctis. So, that's epic. What a day indeed.
