Wendy's became somewhat of a social media phenomenon this year thanks to their former social media manager, Amy Brown. Brown employed a youthful, sassy and sarcastic tone as the head of social media. People really started to take notice when Brown took downan internet troll who didn't believe that Wendy's uses fresh (and not frozen) beef. 

The savagery continued even after Brown left the company.  "Smug Wendy's" blew up so much this year that Wendy became a sort of sex symbol. The fan art is where things got really weird. People began drawing her anime style - and not in an innocent way. We've rounded up some of the funnier examples of this fan art - but the rest is a little too risque. The insane Zootopia fan comic "I Will Survive" has completely taken over our internets - and people are meme-ing the hell out of it. The comic, which deals with an inter-species pregnancy between rabbit Judy Hopps and fox Nick Wilde, is being criticized for being pro-life. We're less interested in the politics than the absolute treasure trove the strange fan-art has inspired. All of our favorite meme subreddits are currently overflowing with Zootopia memes - and we're not complaining.

Star Wars prequel memes are really the gift that keeps on giving. This series of memes is inspired by a trailer for Star Wars Battlefront II, in which a clone trooper (during battle) proclaims a sector clear. Darth Maul's light saber then flies into view - revealing that the sector, is in fact, NOT CLEAR. 

The scene has proved to be highly meme-able, and has gone on to describe horror and surprise regarding fidget spinners, neckbeards, Jar Jar Binks (duh) and even Star Wars fan art. Here are some of the best we've seen in the last week.

On Wednesday, Nintendo unveiled an all-new gameplay trailer for its upcoming fighting game Arms... And like many other major announcements of new video game franchises in recent years, the showcase event instantly inspired an impressive collection of parodies and other works of fan art centered around the playable characters, most notably Twintelle, a tall and formidable femme fatale who uses her curly side tails as her primary weapon.
