Beto O'Rourke Got Roasted On Twitter For Speaking Spanish Last Night

Last night was the First Democratic Debate, featuring Beto O'Rourke, Bill Deblasio, Julián Castro, Cory Booker, Elizabeth Warren, Amy Klobuchar, Tulsi Gabbard, Jay Inslee, John Delaney, and Tim Ryan. While the first debates tend to say a whole lot of nothing about who will win the favor of the people, Beto O'Rourke was quick shoo-in for most meme-able candidate. At the very beginning of the debate, O'Rourke was asked a question about the economy, and he opted to give a non-answer in both English and Spanish. The move puzzled his opponents (Namely Booker and Warren) and viewers alike. It didn't take long for people on Twitter to roast the Texan's his attempt at a bilingual answer. Here are some of our favorite spicy jabs.

'Slap In The Face' Parody Tweets Are Hilarious Political Satire At Its Finest

We're not here to get all political with you all, but we couldn't pass up the opportunity to share these hilarious parody tweets. The roasts started when Philip Klein of the Washington Examiner tweeted, "New post: Elizabeth Warren's plan to cancel student loan debt would be a slap in the face to all those who struggled to pay off their loans." We're lazy, so we're not going to go into more detail, but you can read about it here.

As you can probably see, this line of thinking is a bit flawed, so accordingly, Twitter users had a field day with it!

Trump Incites Criticism After Calling Warren 'Pocahontas' At An Event Honoring Native Americans

Donald Trump is garnering criticism after making an insensitive joke earlier today at an event celebrating Navajo veterans. The President was making a speech honoring the WWII code talkers when he made a callous reference to his nickname for Senator Elizabeth Warren. "You were here long before any of us were here. Although we have a representative in Congress who they say was here a long time ago. They call her Pocahontas."

The nickname is one that Trump has been using for years, but using it in this context adds an extra layer of ugliness to an already troubling moniker. The nickname is a reference to Warren's claims at Native American heritage, which have been heavily debated. Whether or not Warren is in fact Native American, this event was intended to honor war heroes - not to disparage other politicians. Many people on Twitter seem to agree.
