Devastating Crypto Crash Inspires Memes From Unhappy HODLers

For months we've been hearing the words "Buy the dip" in regards to both meme stocks and crypto. But these days, the mantra is starting to feel like something of a joke. Bitcoin plummeted to under 30k earlier today, and hasn't rebounded by much. Ethereum is hovering around a sad 1.8k, and Dogecoin, unsurprisingly, has also sh*t the bed. The meme coin has dropped to 19 cents - the lowest it's been since April.

The dismal and bloody charts have manyHODLrs lamenting their dedication to buying the dip on social media  - but some optimistic folks are actually lamenting the opposite. They wish they had more money to drop during the crash. We're just amazed that people have any money to throw into the ring. Despite the polarizing feelings, we can't seem to escape the memes and tweets. Here's hoping the jokes go from self-loathing and scared to celebratory. We could all use a little extra dough in our wallets.

As Crypto Bloodbath Traumatizes HODLers, Twitter Copes Through Memes

Good morning HODLers. If you haven't checked your crypto trading app yet, maybe you should try throwing your phone out the window first. On the other hand, the market is more volatile than the sun. By the time I finish writing this, DOGE could totally be chillin' on the moon. Not likely, though.

As the 'buy the dip' battle cries ring across the internet, many are worried that the recent news of China's intensified crypto crackdown might cause the dips to keep dipping. Things looked pretty grim early this morning until the Dogefather himself stepped in and tweeted vague 'diamond hands'  emojis, which triggered an immediate BTC spike. We've lost track of how many times Elon Musk has put HODLers through the emotional wringer this year.

Whether you're holding on for dear life, buying for the first time at these 'discounted' prices, or just in it for the entertainment, there's one thing that always brings the people together—memes. Twitter is using memes as a coping mechanism to get through the bloodbath, and we're here for it.

The Wario-baiting, Crypto-tanking Reactions To Elon Musk Hosting Saturday Night Live

If there is one thing Elon Musk wants everyone to know about him, it is that he's funny. When Saturday Night Live announced that he would host this weekend, it seemed like a logical step for the internet's most famous wannabe memelord.

However, not everybody saw it that way. The announcement was met with significant backlash, though many of his fans defended the Tesla CEO. Unfortunately, his appearance on the show only helped to encourage the critics who had been vocal in the upcoming weeks.

From the cringey swipes at Gen Z to his incorrect claim that he was the first person with Asperger's to host, viewers panned the show as soon as it aired. Even his Dogecoin shoutout didn't go as planned, with shares plummeting as soon as he joked about gifting some to his mom for Mother's Day. The cherry on top was a sketch involving a trial for the murder of Super Mario, with Musk playing Wario as the prime suspect.

The zany costuming and questionable acting skills set off a torrent of memes about the performance — and predictably, most of them weren't flattering.

Bitcoin Memes For Crazed Crypto Hodlers

It appears that memes are taking over the economy. If you've been keeping up with the GameStop saga and the rise of DOGE, by now you're probably well aware that bitcoin reached its all-time high of $48k early this morning. While bitcoin has been powering through its ascent for over a decade now and is certainly no meme stock, we can't deny that this forceful crypto rally may at least be loosely connected to the recent Reddit short squeeze meme schemes. Elon Musk has not-so-subtly been hyping both dogecoin and bitcoin for months—mysteriously putting 'bitcoin' into his Twitter bio, retweeting ridiculous pro-dogecoin memes, claiming that dogecoin is 'the people's crypto'—even Snoop Dogg (aka Snoop Doge) got in on the hype. But it all came to a head when Tesla announced its purchase of $1.5 billion worth of bitcoin on Monday. It didn't take long for the price of bitcoin to skyrocket to the moon.

But how much further can bitcoin go? As more and more institutions adopt bitcoin as a legitimate form of currency, the plebs are wanting in, but many are wondering if they're too late. In retrospect, one could say there was never a bad time to buy bitcoin. Remember when one coin cost $9k a year ago? To be honest, I personally thought I was too late then. Now look at me. But obviously hindsight is clear as day, and the future of bitcoin is still foggy for those of us who need blockchain technology to be fully demystified before we can 'YOLO' our life-savings into cryptocurrency. If there's one thing we do know for sure, it's that the inherently viral nature of memes has shown to be a useful tool in pumping crypto. Just as r/WallStreetBets rallied to pump the GME short squeeze, subreddits like r/SatoshiStreetBets have been hyping altcoins like DOGE in order to raise the price floor. Some brush off dogecoin as a bubble or pyramid scheme that only functions as a pump and dump rather than a viable currency, but skeptics said the same thing about bitcoin in 2009, so who knows?

We can't say what the future holds for bitcoin, but we can offer what we know best—memes. We've got some amusing bitcoin memes and tweets both old and fresh for anyone who's either curious about crpyto for the first time or obsessive about checking those candlesticks every two minutes.

Dogecoin Memes For Diamond-Handed HODLers

While we may not be witnessing an upset at the level of the GameStop fiasco, it would seem this is a special time for Dogecoin. It's now ranked as the fifth-most valuable cryptocurrency - and boasts an impressive market cap of $52 billion dollars. That's almost 10 billion more than Barclays Bank. The madness has convinced many a Redditor and retail investor that Dogecoin is "going to the moon." Though our hopes aren't terribly high that we are going to be made millionaires, we do love that Dogecoin has made a lot of people a lot richer. Which means they can do things like pay off their credit card bills, their student loans. Maybe even a down payment on a house. These memes, some of which are a bit corny and possibly idealistic, are for everyone HODLing the shiba token. We love to see people winnin'.

We're pretty sure that most of you have heard about Dogecoin. The altcoin has soared this week, following an earlier rally around when the r/wallstreetbets and GameStop drama was at its peak. Now our timelines are filled with investors posting constantly about the coin making it to $1...or, as they love to say, to the moon. But how did this meme become the 5th most popular cryptocurrency? Don Caldwell of Know Your Meme is here to explain the whole phenomenon.

33 Classic Doge Memes To Celebrate The Rise Of Dogecoin

It's been an interesting time for memes to say the least. Not only has Reddit managed to meme the stock market, but dogecoin (which started out as a joke nearly a decade ago) is making a huge comeback in the strange world of cryptocurrency. At first, dogecoin seemed to piggyback off viral meme stocks like GME and AMC, surging over 800% in just a day last week. The dust quickly settled and dogecoin stopped trending for a moment there, that is until Elon Musk posted a series of supportive tweets about dogecoin early yesterday. In no time, doge was back up 50%. The price of dogecoin has since settled to a new floor of $0.04, which is pretty remarkable if you consider the fact that the meme coin was worth about $0.008 just last week. There's no doubt that dogecoin is an extremely volatile crypto and throwing your money into it is much more akin to gambling than safely investing. It's pretty fun to watch from the sidelines though. You know, for the memes.

To celebrate the unlikely rise of dogecoin, we've put together some some classic memes featuring everyone's favorite iconic yellow shiba. Such meme. Very funny.

'Me After Investing' Memes Boom As Twitter Plays The Stock Market

It seems like everyone and their mom is suddenly interested in the stock market. We're officially on week two of the Reddit/GameStop and AMC stonks saga, and mentions of the movement have only increased in the media. On Twitter, many users have been taking advantage of the ability to buy fractional shares to feel like they're in on the trend. And it turns out investing makes everyone feel a little more rich and a lot more savvy than they actually are. These delusions of grandeur are being documented with "Me After Investing" copypasta memes, which often use images from Wolf of Wall Street to indicate the feeling of being a high powered stock broker. While the memes may seem repetitive in their self-deprecation and tongue-in-cheek nature, we're loving the unity that investing has inspired in the internet.

25 Dogecoin Tweets That Surged Almost As Quickly As Dogecoin

If you've caught wind of the fact that not only GameStop, but now Dogecoin has gone totally viral, you may be asking yourself: is this a joke? The answer is yes and no. Dogecoin may have started out as a funny experiment, but some made thousands of dollars last night as the meme crypto exploded after going viral. Elon Musk even tweeted about it, which usually does wonders to increase the interest in a stock or crypto currency. The last time Dogecoin saw sudden growth was in 2018, but the surge didn't even compare to what we saw yesterday. Even now, the price of Dogecoin is much higher than it has been in the last several years. Will Doge fly to the moon? Only time (and memes) will tell.

We've got 25 of the thousands of tweets about Dogecoin. The power of memes is undeniable.
