There's no other way to describe your average online marketplace than as a baptism of fire. Between the eccentric posters and outrageous hagglers, it can be hard to get a word in edgeways — let alone a good deal. The star of the show, though, is undoubtedly the things which get bought and sold in these lawless lands. The amount of products that could be politely described as 'unique' can sometimes outnumber the types of things that you would actually want to buy. That being said, if you are there to snoop rather than acquire more crap it can be an extremely enlightening experience.

Tone-Deaf Tweet By USA Today Shames Millennials For Spending Too Much On 'Nonessential Items'

Have you ever eaten a delicious but "nonessential" piece of avocado toast and then suddenly couldn't afford to buy a house? Same. 

USA Today Tweeted on Tuesday that the average American adult spends too much money on "nonessential items" including takeout food and "impulse purchases," and that such expenses can rack up nearly $18,000 per year in unnecessary expenses.
