Woman Reveals Unglamorous Reality Of Manhattan Apartment

One of the main downsides of living in the city that never sleeps is that it doesn't sleep because it's so goddamn expensive. New York might be one of the most iconic places in the world, but it's also got the kind of rent prices that many people would have to sell their soul to afford. It can lead many to some strange living situations, from shacking up in a 16 person 'entrepreneur mansion' to finding an entire abandoned apartment behind the bathroom mirror

For most New Yorkers, though, the main issue is paying extortionate amounts for crappy living conditions. Tiktoker @taryntino21 has eloquently demonstrated this with a video of her home. In it, she shows how in her apartment on the Upper East Side, she can't open one of her kitchen cabinets because it is blocked by the oven. She also demonstrates how she has to run her shower for fifteen minutes to get lukewarm water and points out all the nearby restaurants that she can't afford to eat at.

Some viewers shared her pain in trying to find decent housing in expensive areas, but others were baffled as to why anyone would willingly spend that amount of money for the pleasure of living in the big city. Despite these complaints, the woman was firmly convinced of staying in New York. Sure, you might not have fully functioning cupboards, but someone's got to show that it's not just for squillionaires.

People Dunk On Terribly Designed Loft Apartment

It's a rite of passage of moving into anywhere new. You unpack everything, get settled in and then realize that there are several annoying features to your new home that the real estate agents conveniently swept under the carpet. Whether you're barely scraping rent or money is not an object, all of us have suffered from impractical interiors at some point.

Even when you are lucky enough to find somewhere that could be your dream home, there are going to be issues that you have to learn to live with. This was something brought to the attention of Twitter user @Cupidhrt, who shared a picture of a loft apartment as a show of appreciation for the design. People were quick to reply and point out that while it might be showy, the architecture was more than a little hard to live in. Cooking right underneath the sleeping area and an apparent lack of storage space were pointed out as downsides.

Whatever you might think of living without walls, many Twitter users here make some very valid points. The joke's on them, though. Most of us probably couldn't afford to live alone in a swanky urban loft anyway.

Cleaner Services An Entire Apartment, Finds Out It Doesn’t Belong To His Client

The golden rule of cleaning is that it's all about good old fashioned elbow grease. Use the right products and put in the effort and there's not all that much that can go wrong. That being said, this rule only stands when you are cleaning the place that you're meant to be. You might think this isn't an easy mistake to make — but that's not so much the case when you're a professional cleaner, as Louis Angelino III found out.

In a pair of viral videos posted recently under his TikTok username @stayscrewy, the New Jersey resident explained that he cleans the apartments of his friends for extra money. One of them asked if he would extend his services to the home of a colleague, who told him he could let himself in with a key under the doormat. He followed instructions, cleaned the whole apartment and fed the cat too, only to be messaged by his client wondering where he was.

Angelino had gone into the wrong apartment, which led to an amusing string of messages with its owner who apologized for the mess as they were doing renovations. Joking that he had become "the cleaning fairy", they even complimented him on a job well done and enquired and the price of his services if they ever needed a cleaner again. It may have been a lot of effort to put in for some free advertising, but it seems like it did the (unintentional) job.
