Arizona Diamondbacks pitcher J.J. Putz was winding up to throw a pitch to New York Mets infielder Justin Turner when the Chase Field audio tech guy prematurely started playing a clip of "Kickstart My Heart" by Mötley Crüe. Not only that, he played it loud, scaring the pants off of just about everyone in the stadium. Mets play-by-play announcer Gary Cohen said it sounded like a loud "mooing" sound.

Möötley Crüe, anyone?

While the Kansas City Royals and New York Mets dueled on the baseball diamond, there was a different battle going on nearby. Who will arise victorious? The Bottle? Or the Biceps?

Raymond the official mascot of the Tampa Bay Rays is catching some heat after holding up this sign at a recent Rays home game. As well he should, too! I mean c'mon man, there are some guys you just don't touch. Like Steve. His death... well... still stings.

To give you a frame of reference:

"Any drive over 400 feet is noteworthy. A blow of 450 feet shows exceptional power, as the majority of major league players are unable to hit a ball that far. Anything in the 500-foot range is genuinely historic."

And anything over 600 feet is a lie made by old-timey strongmen, print journalists, and radio announcers before home run distance was tracked as a statistic.

Surprisingly, Stanton didn't even make it to the final round, where Oakland A's OF Yoenis Cespedes claimed the Derby crown for the second year in a row.

The Mariners signed Robinson Cano to a 10-year, $240 million contract, ending his tenure with the Yankees. Negotiations were done between the Mariners and Jay-Z, (yes, that Jay-Z) but were almost halted when Jay-Z wanted the Mariners to add a tenth year to the nine year deal they had already spoke about. It didn't matter though because the Mariners caved because they desperately need a big bat in their lineup after watching nearly everyone on their team bat lower than .250 on a consistent basis.
