December 3rd, 2018: A day that will forever be mocked (and mourned) by the entire Tumblr community. This is the day that the staff of Tumblr announced they would be banning "adult content" from their site for good. Artwork and drawings depicting nudity could remain, but anything depicting sexual acts, nudity, or female-presenting nipples will be banned, permanently. 

The news was a surprise to Tumblr's users, especially following an announcement in September, in which the staff claimed they wouldn't use automated filters to regulate their content - that it would interfere with creative expression. While it's no secret that Tumblr is overflowing with porn, and most of it is far from creative, this hypocrisy has rubbed users the wrong way. And how do people express discontent? With memes, of course.

Use the next few days, wisely, folks.

The latest practice to garner fake awe from memers is the fairly universal practice of going up (or down) the stairs two at a time. The feat may have seemed impressive when we were kids with short legs, but somehow it's become one of our favorite new meme trends. While we may scoff at the seemingly weird flex, perhaps the world really would be a better place if that's all it took to hold society together.

If you were avoiding family at all this weekend, you'd know that there was a very curious meme phenomenon. People began meme-ing about grape surgery, leaving many of us puzzled. Grape surgery is actually a real thing. Ophthalmologists will perform techniques on the fruit when training - it's said that the shape and texture of a grape is a good substitute for the real thing. Apparently, the process is perfect for shitposting as well. This meme exploded after a meme account shared a surgical video of a machine performing surgery on, yes, a grape. The sheer dumbness of the screencap instantly gained the attention of presumably bored memers, and things really escalated from there.
