Arizona Diamondbacks pitcher J.J. Putz was winding up to throw a pitch to New York Mets infielder Justin Turner when the Chase Field audio tech guy prematurely started playing a clip of "Kickstart My Heart" by Mötley Crüe. Not only that, he played it loud, scaring the pants off of just about everyone in the stadium. Mets play-by-play announcer Gary Cohen said it sounded like a loud "mooing" sound.
Möötley Crüe, anyone?
While the Kansas City Royals and New York Mets dueled on the baseball diamond, there was a different battle going on nearby. Who will arise victorious? The Bottle? Or the Biceps?
One of the greatest pranks I've seen to date, staged by some skullduggerous pro athletes on one of their teammates. You've gotta' hand it to Derek Bell for not having a mental breakdown when Joe Carter and Dave Winfield cruised out on the field to 'raffle' off Bell's car for Fan Appreciation Day.
