Twitter user @kalssseyharmon shared her lonely cookout with her Grandfather, lovingly dubbed "Pawpaw" on Twitter. The internet was suddenly reminded to call their own grandparents so, instead they Tweeted about how sad this Pawpaw situation made them. After all, no one should have to cook 12 burgers just to have one person show up.

Washington D.C. surprised everyone by declaring an unprecedented total shutdown of Metro services for at least 24 hours. This is for everyone's safety, it's an emergency evaluation of some dangerous electrical problems. That still leaves everyone with plenty of extra time to use gifs and memes to comment on the traffic as they make their way to work by car, bus or foot instead. Even some Twitter accounts for city services are getting in on the "fun".

Back in 2014, Stockton, CA police posted a photo of convicted felon Jeremy Meeks to their Facebook page. He had been arrested on felony gun charges, but the internet cared not about his legal troubles, and turned him into a meme. He became the #feloncrushfriday of many, and tons of people photoshopped him into high end fashion ads, suggesting he should become a model. Eventually, Meeks went to prison and we all forgot about him. Until now.

Meeks has been released from jail, and is pictured here with his new agent, Jim Jordan. In addition to starting his modeling career, Meeks is looking forward to spending time with his family, according to his official Instagram.

And my mom says nothing good happens on the internet. Pssh.
