Color-Changing Dress, Meet Dual Axis

From the Blue and Gold Dress to straight lines that look crooked without optical manipulation, there are countless ways to play tricks on the human eye. This "Dual Axis" illusion plays on our perception of movement. Created by Frank Force, the lines appear to move both horizontally and vertically, but the reality is that it is both. 

Depending on where you look at on the shape, and how you follow the movement, it can shift even as you watch it, a very "trippy" sensation. The Neural Correlate Society's Best Illusion of the Year Contest votes on the best illusions from all over the world, and the winner gets a trophy, along with a $3000 cash prize.
