There are people who make the world a better place, and then there are the people who just want those people to suffer. Journalist David Leavitt falls into the latter category. The Massachusetts resident started an extremely huffy Twitter thread on Friday after a Target manager refused to honor a toothbrush that Leavitt thought was priced at one cent. Leavitt didn't realize the price was actually for the display and ended up calling the police and publicly shaming Target employee Tori Perotti.
Leavitt's thread didn't garner the kind of sympathy or outrage he expected. Where he wanted allies, people loudly supported Tori. The thread is full of angry replies, slamming Leavitt left and right - exposing Leavitt's other sins and praising Perotti's patience. Even controversial YouTuber Joey Salads expressed dismay at Leavitt's obnoxious and entitled thread. He's offered to pay Perotti's legal bills if she chooses to take action. But Perotti may not feel inclined. A GoFundMe that was created to send her on a much-needed vacation has already surpassed $30k. It's nice to see the good guys win.
