Donald Trump's Letter From Pickle Draws Skepticism, Inspires Parodies

"Is Pickle real?" seems to be the question nagging the internet today after Sarah Huckabee Sanders read his letter at a press briefing last night. The letter, allegedly written by a 9-year-old boy named Dylan (Pickle is his nickname), praises the current President and reveals the boy had a Trump-themed birthday, complete with a MAGA hat cake.

Everyone's a skeptic, the curious case of this letter is no different. While some Twitter users analyzed the penmanship, others simply made memes and parodies. We may never meet Pickle, but we're sure having fun scrutinizing his handiwork.

The Internet Reacts To Trump's Transgender Military Ban

In an unexpected move, Donald Trump  announced on Twitter that transgender Americans would be banned from military service. The President claims that the motivation behind the move was fiscal - that the cost of caring for transgender soldiers is a financial burden, but netizens, journalists and politicians were all quick to challenge this notion. The outrage at Trump's tweet was heard (read) far and wide - and even inspired some memes.

Twitter Had An Absolute Blast With #TrumpScoutBadges

Donald Trump inspired a wave of Twitter memes with his Monday night speech at the Boy Scout Jamboree. While the hashtag #TrumpScoutBadges was created that day, HuffPost Comedy took things to the next level when they included it in their Hashtag Roundup game. The badges range from creepy (Chemistry, featuring a photo of Trump and his daughter) to clever, but they're all pretty entertaining.

Reddit Declares Meme War Against CNN After #CNNBlackmail Controversy

Redditors are waging war against CNN following their threat to dox a user over a GIF featuring the President and the news network. The GIF is an edited clip from Donald Trump's 2007 Wrestlemania appearance in which he gives WWE Vince McMahon a pretty serious beat down. In the GIF, the CNN logo has been superimposed over McMahon's face - and features the title "Trump takes down fake news (Colorized, 2017)." The animation, a jab at the cable news network, was later tweeted in video form by President Trump.

On July 4th, user HanAssholeSolo issued an apology to the r/The_Donald subreddit, in which he apologized for the controversy and any bigoted posts he made in the past. This is where the fun begins. The very same day, CNN senior editor Andrew Kaczynski claimed to have tracked down the user in question, and threatened to reveal his identity (dox, if you will) if he continued to "repeat this ugly behavior on social media again."

Reddit does not take kindly to blackmail. While the HanAssholeSolo was rumored to be a 15 year old boy, Kaczynski claims he is an adult. Either way, the response from subreddits r/dankmemes, r/cnnmemes, and r/memeeconomy has been swift. The users have taken to calling #CNN the Great Meme War - and have been creating a wealth of anti-CNN memes in response.
